CPS Investigating the Weekend Death of Five-Month Old Child
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Officials have confirmed that there was an alternative caretaker at the home on the 1400 block of Corban Drive, where an infant died over the weekend.
It is unclear if that caretaker was a relative or a babysitter, but officials did say it was not the baby's parents.
The five-month old baby was discovered not breathing in a bed at the Corban Drive townhouse near Port on Saturday. The baby was taken to Driscoll Children's Hospital, where it was later pronounced dead.
Because of the infant's age, Child Protective Services is investigating the death to see if it was natural or the result of neglect.
