ALICE (Kiii News) -

The woman seen sprinting across busy SPID in a video that has now made headlines around the world is now behind bars in the Jim Wells County Jail.

It was Monday afternoon when the Corpus Christi Police Department issued an arrest warrant for 27-year old Nola Morales, who is suspected of stealing from Academy Sports + Outdoors before making her brazen escape from police by running across SPID on Wednesday, Aug. 14.

A warrant was also issued for 26-year old Amanda Gonzalez Macias-Chavez, who police suspect was an accomplice at the time of the theft. She was detained at the scene, but released because at the time, police did not have enough evidence to connect her to the crime.

After reportedly receiving a tip, police in Jim Wells County arrested Morales without incident at the Child Protective Services office in Alice at around 5 p.m. Monday. Macias-Chavez then turned herself into police in Alice at around 8 p.m.
