Subcontract Worker Accused of Using City Equipment for Side Jobs
JIM WELLS COUNTY (Kiii News) -
In Jim Wells County, a 28-year-old Alice subcontract worker is in jail accused of allegedly using city equipment and materials for a side job. We spoke with Joaquin Cibrian as he was being arrested.
"Why I'm placed under arrest," said Cibrian. "I just did a courtesy for that person."
Police Chief Randy Weems says Cibrian used a city dump truck, trailer and loader to repair driveways on Labor Day. The 28-year-old was hired through a temp agency. Weems says Cibrian made roughly $5,000 on the side.
Cibrian faces felony charges of theft and misappropriation of company property. Chief Weems adds to call (361) 664-0186 if any resident was approached by Cibrian for work.
