Just over a year ago, Jack Osbourne was a new father finding out he had multiple sclerosis. "The Osbournes" star was admittedly angry and frustrated.

Now, Osbourne, 27, is "Dancing With the Stars" and using the show as a platform to help others afflicted with the disease.

"Physically right now, I'm good," he told ABC News at today's "DWTS" cast reveal. "There's not that many young people that have the disease that are in entertainment and do speak up about it."

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. There is no cure and life expectancy can be shortened for those with the disease as much as 10 years.

'Why Now?' New Dad Jack Osbourne Faces MS

Osbourne said he wants his role on the dance competition show to bring awareness and more research to MS.

"It's a hell of a disease and it doesn't really end pretty," Osbourne added. "So it's something that I want to keep people wanting to donate time and money to finding a solution."

Osbourne and his wife Lisa, 26, already have a daughter, Pearl, with another baby on the way. So, with less than two weeks until the premier of the show Sept. 16, Osbourne said he plans to show those closest to him what he can do on the dance floor.

"Before the main show, we are going to do a show and tell for the family and friends," he said. "Because if you can do that stuff in front of family and friends, doing it in front of strangers shouldn't be a big deal."

One such family member is sister Kelly Osbourne, who also competed on "DWTS" in 2009, finishing third. As a veteran of the show, she had some sage advice for her bother.

"She just told me to commit, go wholehearted and you'll get results," he said. "I'm just most excited about actually learning how to dance."
