Hewitt Police Release New Skeletal Remains Information

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- The Hewitt Police Department have an update on the human skeletal remains found Sept. 7.

Police recovered two sets of skeletal remains on Saturday, Sept. 7 in a wooded area of Hewitt.

Preliminary results are in, giving us a closer look at who these victims could be.

Hewitt police still have a ways to go before identifying the two victims, but they are one step closer to figuring out what happened in the woods.

According to the Dallas forensic testing, both victims are white men.

They describe victim one between ages 45 and 55, standing between 5'2" and 5'7" in height.

Tests show victim two is believed to be between 35 and 45 years old, standing much taller with a height between 5'9" and 6'3".

The two deaths are believed to have occurred more than six months ago. The case is being worked as a homicide investigation and is still under scrutiny by the Hewitt Police Department.

Just a few days ago, cadaver dogs from Austin were out searching to make sure nothing was left behind.

Police say they didn't find any more evidence.

Since the remains were found on Sept. 7th, many people in the neighborhood are still wondering how this could happen and when it will be over.
