NAS-CC Security Remains the Same Despite D.C. Shooting Rampage

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Our nation's capital remains a massive crime scene as hundreds of heavily armed police and federal agents swarm the U.S. Naval Yard after a gunman opened fire.

The gunman was killed, along with 12 others, though that number may be higher as the investigation continues.

Despite the shooting rampage that took place at a Navy yard in Washington D.C. Monday, security remained the same as always at Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi.

The public information office said that no special security measures have been taken since word of the shooting broke. However, they did say they will continue to monitor the situation.

As of right now, there are no plans to increase any level of security at our local naval bases.
