Police Seek Man Who Held Up Family Dollar Store at Gunpoint

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Surveillance cameras were rolling as store clerks at the Family Dollar on the 1300 block of South Staples were robbed at gunpoint just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Corpus Christi police said the suspect entered the store, made a purchase and then pulled out a handgun and demanded cash.

"He took an undetermined amount of money and took off on foot, running into the location officers surrounded, and are still actively looking for him," said Lt. Edward Longoria of the Corpus Christi Police Department.

The suspect is described as a fairly large male in his 20s, standing at least six feet tall and wearing a white t-shirt and khaki shorts. He was last seen running into a neighborhood near Elizabeth and 7th streets.
