High Registration for Conquer the Coast Despite Expected Rains
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
This year's Conquer the Coast bike ride is shaping up to be the biggest ever. So far, registration is up 30-percent over last year.
As the number of cyclists grows in the Coastal Bend and around the state, so too does the number of people signing up to ride in the Saturday morning event. Registration opened up Friday at Brewster Street Ice House.
As of noon, more than 1,500 people had signed up, and organizers expect that number to top 2,000.
But what will happen with the rain that may hit Saturday morning?
Kiii News Reporter Brian Burns went Live from Brewster Street Ice House, where he was joined by Lizzie Mahoney of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring the event.
The ride begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Whataburger Field. It is expected to last all day.
