City Council Approves Nearly $98,000 CCFD Efficiency Study
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
City Council approved Tuesday an efficiency study on the Corpus Christi Fire Department that will cost nearly $98,000.
The study will determine if the fire department is making the best use of manpower and equipment, and if the City has enough equipment for residents' needs.
Firefighter Association President Carlos Torres hopes that the study validates his claim that the City does not have enough manpower.
"I think this study, along with the GIS study and the other studies that have been done, are definitely going to validate what we've been saying all along to the council and to the citizens of this community," Torres said. "And believe it or not, even with the two additional ambulances, we're still running out of ambulances in the city."
The efficiency study will be conducted by a company called MGT of America.
