Outside City Hall, the Corpus Christi Police Department's Mobile Crime Prevention Unit was set up.
This museum on wheels shows the history of the police department. Inside, visitors will also find old weapons, drug paraphernalia and other items confiscated in jail cells. Officers say the mobile unit is designed to show young children what a life of crime could lead to.
"All of the things that will land you in trouble, recognize some of the factors and leave with the mental image that it is not all right to do or sale drugs," said Assistant Chief Mark Schauer.
Assistant Chief Schauer says the mobile unit is available to travel to schools and other events. You can contact the Corpus Christi Police Department at 886-COPS if you would like to schedule a visit.
