(KCEN) -- The jury has been selected for the trial of former Nolanville Mayor Charlie Stewart.
Stewart is charged with several counts of inappropriate sexual contact with several children.
70 potential jurors were brought into the courtroom this morning. They were asked questions by the prosecution & defense about their personal life, background and knowledge of the case for over 5 hours.
One juror admitted that he had already formed an opinion on the case from reading about the case and hearing it on the news.
Mr. Stewart was in the courtroom for all the questioning.
He was taking notes throughout the process.
He was arrested in July 2012 by Nolanville police after Scott & White hospital contacted police after speaking with an alleged victim.
He still remains in Bell County Jail.
The final jury of 12 is comprised of four men and eight women.
