Police are searching for a local business owner who is accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a young woman, and they are asking for your help to find him.
An arrest warrant was issued for 50-year old Rudy Rubio, who owns and operates a local auto shop where the crime reportedly occurred.
The father of the young woman who said she was assaulted by Rubio spoke with Kiii News Reporter Bill Churchwell on Monday. He is not being named, nor is his daughter. They are in fear of the suspect, and are hoping that police will be able to find him.
The details are disturbing.
"He approached her that night. Said he was law enforcement. Told her to get out of the car. He told her to put her hands on top of the car, proceeded to search her, and at that time, put her hands behind her back," the father said. "Tied her hands behind her back."
What happened next is any father's worst fear.
"He took her to a local business, upstairs, where he had a bed," he said. "He pushed her. Beat her. Raped her five and a half hours, eight times, then wanted her to put on some other girl's clothing. She was praying the whole time out loud, and as she was praying, he asked, 'Why do you keep praying.' She said, 'My God is going to get me out of this.'"
The crime allegedly happened at Rubio's Automotive, which is located on the 600 block of SPID, near Old Brownsville Road. The victim's father said that after the suspect sexually assaulted his daughter, he dropped her back off where he found her.
"She has numerous bruises on her body. Lumps on her head. Cuts and bruises on her wrists, where she was tied up."
Five years ago, on Sept. 30, 3News interviewed Rubio during a story about bad fuel pumps. A look at Rubio's background shows that he has an extensive criminal history, and he is also listed as a registered sex offender. He was convicted back in 2005 for indecency with a child.
If you know of Rubio's whereabouts, you are encouraged to call police at 361-886-2600, or call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
