As of Tuesday evening, a local business owner accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a young woman is still on the loose, and police need your help finding him.
An arrest warrant was issued Monday for 50-year old Rudy Rubio, who is wanted for a sexual assault that allegedly happened over the weekend at his automotive shop on SPID, near Old Brownsville Road.
On Tuesday, his shop doors were closed, and the business next door did not want to comment.
According to the victim's father, Rubio posed as a police officer and told her to get out of her vehicle. He proceeded to search her, and then tied her hands behind her back. Her father said that he took her to his shop, where he has a bed upstairs, and beat and raped her for about five and a half hours.
Her father said that afterwards, Rubio took her back to where he found her.
The news was shocking for neighbors near Rubio's home.
"He pretty much keeps to himself. Most people down here do," neighbor Jerry Ellison said. "There have never been no wild parties or anything like that going on down there."
Neighbors said that they knew he was a registered sex offender. Rubio's background shows that he was convicted in 2005 for indecency with a child.
If you have any information regarding Rubio's whereabouts, please call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
