The Corpus Christi Police Department has released a sketch rendition of the man suspected in two separate sexual assaults that occurred within 24 hours.
The first incident occurred Sept. 28, when a 19-year old woman was assaulted on the 4200 block of Ocean Drive. She managed to fight the suspect off using pepper spray.
The second incident occurred Sept, 29, when a 19-year old girl was flagged down by a man in a red pickup truck. He warned her that she was dragging something behind her vehicle. When she got out to check, the suspect assaulted her.
The second victim fought back using her keys to stab at him. He then fled.
The first suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 30-40 years of age, standing five-foot eight to five-foot nine and weighing between 240-280 pounds. He was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt and shorts.
The suspect in the second incident was described only as a Hispanic male in his 50s. Police believe there is a good possibility that both assaults were perpetrated by the same individual, adding that he is targeting young women who are out alone in the early-morning hours.
Police recommend that all young women avoid being out alone or in dangerous situations. Keep you vehicle doors locked and have your cell phone charged and accessible at all times. If you are flagged down by a stranded motorist, do not stop. Instead, notify the Corpus Christi Police Department at 361-886-2600 once you reach safety.
