Freshman QB Bedford Looking to Turn Javelinas' Season Around
KINGSVILLE (Kiii Sports) - The Javelinas won't officially say they're in "desperation mode", but they're about as close to that as they can get, and they're turning to a freshman to help turn their season around.
Caleb Bedford became the fourth starting quarterback in five games this season for Texas A&M-Kingsville after the only three were injured. Coach David Calloway decided to take the redshirt off Bedford and start him against Midwestern State.
The Hogs lost that game 43-10, and dropped to 0-2 in Lone Star Conference play. Bedford knows the pressure is on this Saturday when the team returns home to Javelina Stadium to take on Texas A&M-Commerce. A third consecutive conference loss would all but end the Javelinas' playoff chances.
