Associate Judge Running for Judge of County Court at Law 5
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A familiar face at Nueces County Court at Law 5 is throwing her hat into the running to become the judge of that very court.
Associate Judge Martha Huerta-Quintanilla, who is also an adjunct professor at Del Mar College, announced that she will be running for judge of County Court at Law 5, which mostly handles the removal and placement of children as a result of abuse, neglect and abandonment.
"This position is very important to so many people in the community, who are so vulnerable and have no help. So I think it's import that you have somebody that will hit the ground running," Huerta said. "There is no room for a training period. I have the experience and the qualifications needed to keep doing what we've been doing in this court."
Judge Brent Chesney currently presides over that court.
