Firefighters Talk to Kids About Fire Prevention at Harte Library
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Local firefighters were called to the Harte Library in Flour Bluff Tuesday to put on a fire prevention demonstration and show off their equipment.
They say the biggest challenge is to help kids overcome their fear of calling 911 when there is an emergency.
"We try to meet with them early because it's never too early for fire prevention, and to teach them about not being scared of firemen," said Captain Weston Beseda of the Corpus Christi Fire Department.
Beseda said they try to go out and talk with kids about fire prevention at least once a month.
