Construction Well Underway for Alice's New Multi-Use Complex

Posted: Updated:
ALICE (Kiii News) -

There's a lot of work being done in the City of Alice on a $15 million multi-use complex, including site work, utility work and underground work.

Construction began in July of this year at the site, located on Highway 281. The City of Alice says it is looking at completion by either late 2014 or early 2015, but no later than the summer of 2015.

When it's done, the multi-use complex will include an amphitheater, an outdoor resort-style leisure pool, a hotel and conference center.

"We're actually standing on what will be part of the parking lot," Alice City Manager Ray De Los Santos, Jr., said. "Just behind us, right over here where you see the concrete truck, right on the other side of that is the pad site for the natatorium. They're actually excavating that area right now."

As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, a website was launched where the public can keep track of the project. You can find the site at www.itsaboutalice.com.
