Bishop Man Found Guilty of Capital Murder, Aggravated Assault
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A jury found Bishop resident Noe Salinas guilty of capital murder and aggravated assault Thursday.
Salinas plead not guilty to the murders of Juan Casso and Mario Briones back in August of 2012. He also wounded a man named Anthony Alaniz.
Salinas' lawyer told jurors he acted in self defense after the three men had gone to his house earlier in the evening and threatened him. Salinas admitted to shooting them. Investigators said he fired 30 shots.
Because he was charged with a capital murder, Salinas was automatically sentenced to life in prison. He can file an appeal for a new trial within 30 days.
