San Patricio D.A. Points Out Concerning Language in 8-Liner Permits

GREGORY (Kiii News) -

The San Patricio County District Attorney says City government employees throughout the county have some explaining to do.

He wants to know why they have been issuing 8-liner game room permits, written with some very concerning language.

"The language is as follows. This is actually written in the permit: 'The City of Gregory and the applicant shall acknowledge that the installation and use of such machines may be found to violate state law,'" District Attorney Michael Welborn said. "That's actually the language in the permit."

Welborn said he finds the language of such permits "very disturbing." He has questions and will be contacting the employees of San Patricio County municipalities to get answers.

The district attorney added that he will also be visiting with his Grand Jury about the possibility of launching an investigation.
