With election day just over two weeks away, a special question and answer session was held Thursday for those who have questions about the proposed Destination Bayfront project.
The event, held at Del Mar's Economic Development Center, was put on by the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni Association.
Organizers of Destination Bayfront answered a wide range of questions, from what the project will consist of to just what sort of economic impact the project will have for the area.
"As the project has evolved, because it's complex, it's important to go out to the public and talk about where we are with the project, what's going to be in it, answer the questions," said Trey McCampbell, co-organizer of Destination Bayfront. "In communication, there's a rule that says, 'What the mind doesn't know, it makes it up,' and a lot of people are making assumptions about the park. So we want to give them facts about the park."
"I was actually really impressed by the presentation," attendee Samantha Meroney said. "I didn't know a whole lot about it going in, but it was exceptionally informative."
Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, but if you want to be one of the first to cast your ballot, early voting begins Oct. 21.
