Speeding, Standing Water Causes Chain Reaction Accident on I-37
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Police say speed and standing water on a busy highway is to blame for a chain reaction accident on I-37, near Callicoate, just before 7:15 a.m. Friday.
According to police, the driver of a silver Dodge Ram pickup was traveling eastbound on I-37 when they hit standing water on the highway. That caused the pickup to hydroplane, spinning several times and eventually striking a nearby car.
That caused a chain reaction.
So far, there has been no word on injuries, but police did say the driver of the silver pickup will be cited for causing the accident.
