It's not just you: Facebook down for many

Facebook users had trouble accessing the social media website Monday morning, with many receiving an error messages stating, "An error occurred. Please try again later." Some who were able to log on to the site found they were unable to post a status update, instead receiving an error message which read, "There was a problem updating your status. Please try again later."

As of 9:30 a.m. ET, the website Down For Everyone Or Just Me reported that Facebook is, indeed, down. NBC News was able to access Facebook's Newsroom blog, and nothing yet has been posted there or from Facebook's Twitter account. We have contacted the social network and will update this post when we hear back. 

Of course, while Facebook may not be tweeting about its outage, plenty of other people have turned to the official social network for complaining about inaccessible websites. (That would be Twitter.) Here is the obligatory list of tweets associated with the new n' trendy hashtag #FacebookDown:
