Acclaimed Seattle Chefs Share Favorite Recipes, Free on iTunes
SEATTLE, Oct. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Visit Seattle just launched a free interactive eCookbook that highlights a range of talented chefs and signature Pacific Northwest cuisine. Fresh From Seattle features 26 recipes from 12 noteworthy contributing local chefs, including award winners such as Tom Douglas, Maria Hines and Thierry Rautureau. The 92-page eCookbook is a rich compilation of recipes, cooking and storage tips, color photos, food history, chef bios and more. Seattle chefs contributed original recipes, as well as personal restaurant favorites, that are designed to pique the culinary curiosity of the inspired home chef. In addition to Seattle celebrity chefs, the cookbook also features acclaimed hotel chefs.
Fresh From Seattle is available at www.2daysinseattle.com/ebook, where it is downloadable as a PDF or you can link to Apple iTunes App Store for download. Both options are free of charge.
"Between Seattle's creative chefs and welcoming hospitality community, we formed the perfect marriage for this project," said Ali Daniels, Vice President, Marketing, Visit Seattle. "We are a city of gourmands, constantly exploring and finding new ways to share the inspired culinary offerings of the Pacific Northwest. Seattle's vibrant food culture just has to be shared and Fresh From Seattle does just that."
The new eCookbook is part of the 2 Days in Seattle consumer travel marketing campaign which promotes overnight stays in Seattle and highlights the city's unique arts and culinary scene. The campaign is funded by the Seattle Tourism Improvement Area (STIA), a dedicated marketing fund assessed from guests at some 50 downtown Seattle hotels. Visit Seattle administers the STIA marketing programs and created the 2 Days In Seattle web site as a companion site to the city's official visitor web site, www.visitseattle.org.
Launched in 2012, www.2daysinseattle.com offers a user-friendly interactive map containing hundreds of concise descriptions and links for local businesses, attractions, dining and accommodation options, itinerary building and a hotel booking search function. Web site content is continually and uniquely updated as social media influencers visit Seattle and tweet about their experiences. Visit Seattle was the first destination marketing organization to use Klout's influence graph to identify key influential people and invite them to visit and tweet or post about their Seattle visits.
The 2 Days in Seattle campaign was developed for Visit Seattle by Copacino + Fujikado, a locally based advertising agency. The agency also developed the new Fresh From Seattle eCookbook.
