Bond Set for Former Robstown Officer Wanted for Sexual Assault

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The former Robstown police officer wanted for the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year old girl received his bond conditions in the 214th District Court just after 9 a.m. Friday.

Ernest Martinez, 27, had turned himself in to the Nueces County warrant division Thursday afternoon. On Friday morning, he appeared before Judge Jose Longoria, along with his attorney, Terry Shamsie.

Martinez' bond was set at $200,000. Judge Longoria ordered that the have absolutely no contact with children, and wear an ankle monitor at all times.

Martinez had resigned from his position in the Robstown Police Department back in September.
