More human remains found at California treatment plant

From Cherri Mossburg

LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Investigators found more human remains Thursday at a water treatment facility in Carson, California, a sheriff's official said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Irys Alvarez said authorities believe the remains are related to remains found days ago at the same plant and at another treatment plant 30 miles away.

Earlier this week, homicide investigators said they believe the remains found at the plants -- a torso, pelvis and legs -- belong to the same woman.

"The body parts that were discovered at both plants seem to fit, almost like a puzzle," Lt. Michael Rosson of the sheriff's department told CNN on Tuesday.

CNN's Kyung Lah and Diahann Reyes contributed to this report.
