Corpus Christi, Texas – November 3, 2013 - The Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau (CC CVB) announces Paulette Kluge as its interim president effective November 4, 2013. The CC CVB Board will conduct a nationwide search for a permanent appointment.
Kluge brings over 40 years of hospitality industry experience to the CC CVB. She has served in various sales and marketing roles in the hotel industry, as well as with the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau. Most recently, Kluge retired as the Director of Sales & Marketing, Omni Hotels Corpus Christi.
Michael Womack, Chair of the CVB Board says he is "confident that Paulette Kluge has the industry knowledge, community relationships and leadership skills to lead the CVB through this period of transition while continuing to promote Corpus Christi as a Texas top five destination." He adds, "Kluge's record of profitable traditional marketing and creative social media marketing combined with her knowledge of nature tourism and attracting the Eagle Ford Shale business will be an asset to the organization."
The CC CVB reported 7.4 million visitors last year spending over $1 billion in the community. Kluge's role as interim will include working with stakeholders to align goals, assessing policies and procedures, promoting leisure travel and booking conventions. Kluge comments that she "these are exciting times for Corpus Christi and I am excited to be a part of them. The addition of Schlitterbahn, The Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay and potentially Destination Bayfront, show that the future of Corpus Christi is brilliantly bright.
