Blitz Rankings: Week 10

Posted: Updated:

Here are the Blitz Rankings for the final week of the regular season:

LARGE SCHOOLS
:

1) Calallen   (8-0)

*The Wildcats are going for the 500th win in school history Friday at Victoria East and are rolling heading into a loaded 4A-Division II playoffs alongside Flour Bluff, Port Lavaca and Alice.

2) Flour Bluff   (8-1)

*The Hornets have wrapped up the District 31-4A crown as they head into the playoffs with a potential second-round match-up with Calallen on the horizon.

3) Alice   (8-1)

*The Coyotes are also headed into the 4A-Division II playoffs and could get Port Lavaca if they get out of the first round.

4) Ray   (7-2)

*The Texans need to get healthy heading into the playoffs, and a regular season finale against Miller could help with that.

5) Carroll   (3-5)

*The Tigers got blasted by Cibolo Steele as expected, but a win at home Friday against South San would put Carroll into the playoffs after just a one-win season last year.

Others: G-P (3-5), T-M (4-4)

SMALL SCHOOLS:

1) Refugio   (8-1)

*The Bobcats have rolled right through District 16-2A, Div. II and look to make some noise once again in the postseason.

2) Sinton   (7-2)

*The Pirates have an opportunity to get into a three-way tie for the District 30-3A crown, but need an Orange Grove win over Ingleside to make it happen.

3) Orange Grove   (8-1)

*The Bulldogs are already in the playoffs, but Coach Jerry Bomar's team is looking for its third straight shared district crown if they can beat Ingleside Friday.

4) Ingleside   (7-2)

*The Mustangs have dominated so far in district, as Ingleside is 30-3A's only unbeaten team. The Mustangs will shoot up to #2 if they can beat Orange Grove and claim the district crown.

5) Kingsville   (7-2)

*The Brahmas have done nothing but win in 31-3A, and Kingsville is locked and loaded with a district title en route to the playoffs.

Others: Woodsboro (7-1), Taft (7-2), Aransas Pass (7-2), Odem (5-4)
