LAREDO, TX (Kiii Sports) - The Moody Trojans snapped an 8-game winning streak on Thursday night by outscoring Laredo Cigarroa 63-61 in the highest scoring game in District 31-4A history.
The Trojans fell behind Cigarroa 17-0 before Michael Cantu, playing in his final high school football games, connected with Isaiah Patterson for a 53-yard gain that set up the Trojans' first touchdown.
Moody made it 24-14 as Cantu and Patterson hooked up again on a long touchdown pass.
Moody held a 63-55 lead into the final few seconds, but Cigarroa punches in a touchdown. The two-point try to tie the game comes up short, and Moody snaps an 8-game losing streak with a 63-61 win that set several school offensive records. The Trojans ended the season with a 2-8 record.
