CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - The final night of the 2013 high school football regular season featured a District 30-3A showdown between Ingleside and Orange Grove. If the Mustangs could beat Orange Grove in Ingleside, they would win the district title outright. Orange Grove wound up beating Ingleside 40-35. So, for a second straight season, Ingleside, Orange Grove, and Sinton wound up as tri-champions.
While the Bulldogs were beating the Mustangs, the Sinton Pirates rolled past Robstown 34-8 to eliminate the Cottonpickers from the postseason and, as we mentioned earlier, wrap up a third straight tri-championship in District 30-3A.
Rockport, which had finished just short of the playoffs the past four seasons, took advantage of a new UIL rule that added a fourth team to the postseason in Class 3A. The Pirates grabbed their playoff invite with a 48-7 win at West Oso.
