Driver Plows Car Into Home, DWI Charges Possible

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Two people are in the hospital after Corpus Christi Detectives say the car they were driving crashed into a Westside home.

The accident happened around 1:45 a.m. on Archdale and Bloomington. Two people were inside sleeping when officers say the car blew through a stop sign, drove straight through the fence and knocked down a small tree before slamming into the house. Both people inside the car were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Lieutenant Rusty Jenkins says the damage has made the home unlivable.

"I don't know if they're going to stay with some friends and family or at a hotel, but they definitely can't stay at the home," said Jenkins.

Jenkins added the people inside the home were uninjured. The driver could face possible DWI charges.
