Warriors on Wheels Arrive in Corpus Christi After Seven-Day Ride

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

More than 20 Warriors on Wheels have made their way to the Coastal Bend after riding for six days, coming all the way from Wichita Falls.

The special ride raises money for military families in Texas. Kiii News Reporter Mike DaSilva went Live from Brewster Street Ice House, where the warriors gathered upon their arrival in Corpus Christi.

"This is one of the toughest rides you could possibly do. I did it last year. The weather was a little rougher last year, but I was in a little better shape last year," said Charlie Lemon, a retired U.S. Army specialist. "But 520 miles in a vehicle's tough. 520 miles on a standup bicycle is tough. I'm out here doing it with my arms. Like I said, I lost my legs, so I just take what I have left and I just drive forward."

If you would like to help their cause and make a $10 donation, all you have to do is text the word "America" to 20222.
