Local Shelters Seek Coat, Blanket Donations

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Area homeless shelters are asking for donations of coats and blankets as cold temperatures move into the Coastal Bend.

Shelters that are taking donations include:

  • Metro Ministries - 1919 Leopard Street, 361-887-0151
  • Salvation Army - 501 Josephine Street, 361-884-9498
  • Good Samaritan Rescue Mission - 210 S Alameda Street, 361-765-0297
  • Mother Teresa Shelter - 513 Sam Rankin Street, 361-883-7372

Wind chill is expected to be in the 30s by Wednesday morning, and temperatures by Thursday morning will be in the low 40s.

His family says it's the last thing he said on the phone that has them fearing for his life. 20 year old Eric Samora reportedly called his family two weeks ago saying he was running for his life through the brush near Falfurrias and didn't know where he was at.
