Toys for Tots Benefits from Rivalry Basketball Game

Posted: Updated:
KINGSVILLE (Kiii News) -

It was cold in Kingsville Tuesday night, but a rivalry was heating things up as H.M. King High School and Naval Air Station-Kingsville hit the basketball court.

"It's really great. There's quite the crowd. It looks like a dress rehearsal for the team, but we hate to spoil it for them," said Christopher Misner of Toys for Tots. "But we'll see how it goes."

The sailors from NAS-Kingsville ended up winning the game, 42-34, but the real winner was Toys for Tots. The event was put on as a fun rivalry to collect donations for the Kingsville-Kleberg Toys for Tots drive.

As proud sponsors of Toys for Tots in Kingsville, 3News would like to remind you that the Toys for Tots campaign in Kingsville and Kleberg counties is well underway.

If you would like to make a toy or monetary donation, you can do so at the Stop-N-Lube Center on the 900 block of East King Street in Kingsville.
