CCFD CARE Program Presents Checks to Local Non-Profits

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The pink fire truck was on the scene as the Corpus Christi Fire Department's CARE program delivered check donations to three local organizations Wednesday at the CCFD Union Hall.

The funds were raised through the CARE program's t-shirt campaign, in which they sold over 10,000 shirts. The checks were presented to the American Cancer Society, First Friday and the Driscoll Children's Hospital Cancer and Blood Disorder Center.

CARE is an acronym for Cancer Awareness Relief Effort, and they still have t-shirts on sale. To purchase one, you can go to the Corpus Christi Firefighters Association Union Hall at 6014 Ayers Street between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Sizes may be limited. For more information, call 361-814-4437.
