CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The trial of 31-year old David Alvarez, accused of punching and killing 25-year old Aaron Juarez in a Whataburger parking lot, has been delayed.

Alvarez was back in court Thursday afternoon for pretrial motions, but his attorney told the judge that he is still waiting on the state's evidence, including DNA results, and other information from the district attorney.

The trial was originally set to begin Monday, but has now been delayed, with no new trial date set at this point.

Alvarez is facing a charge of manslaughter and has also been indicted on DWI charges. He is being held at the Nueces County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond.
