CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The Corpus Christi Food Bank is needing more donations in order to keep its pantry full this holiday season. KIII TV 3 is gearing up with HEB and the Food Bank of Corpus Christi with its 26th Annual Share Your Christmas food drive to help prevent families from going hungry in the Coastal Bend.

Reporter Sarah Acosta talked with executive director Bea Hanson, not only about how to donate but the variety of free programs the food bank offers to the community. One of those programs is the Kids Cafe, which provides a warm meal after school to low-income students and help with homework three times a week.

Those students don't go empty handed over the weekend, with the Back Pack program which supplies children with a gallon zip lock bag filled with nutritious snacks. These back pack cost $4 to fill, and donations can be made at www.foodbankcc.com.
