Thick Fog Causes Flight Delays at Corpus Christi International Airport

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Travelers arriving at the Corpus Christi International Airport Monday were met with some morning flight delays.

Foggy conditions made it difficult for pilots to land the planes. American Airlines and Southwest were mostly affected, however United Airlines had one flight delay. Most passengers were delayed up to about an hour or so, with some flights canceled altogether.

"From what I understand, and again, I'm not a pilot, but from what I understand it is the arrival that is dicier in this kind of fog because they need that visibility with the runway, and apparently they had some problems with that," said Kim Bridger of the Corpus Christi International Airport.

Officials say that, as a traveler, the best think you can do is communicate with the airline you are flying, and as always, check the airport's website for flight status at www.corpuschristiairport.com.
