CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Police are looking for a juvenile male wanted in connection with the shooting of a teen girl who was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital Wednesday night.

It was around 11 p.m. when police responded to a home on the 3100 block of Huisache, near Buddy Lawrence. There were about six people inside the home when police arrived.

"Apparently there was some type of altercation or disturbance inside the residence," said Captain Jerry Vesely of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "The male shot the female and fled the scene."

Investigators believe the victim was shot by someone she knew, and say it could have been an accident.

The victim's older brother, Osbaldo Reyna, said he was inside the home when his sister was shot.

"I seen him pull the trigger a couple of times, and nothing happened, and I didn't think nothing of it," Reyna said. "After that, they were kissing or whatever, and I was watching TV and all I heard was 'paa.' I was scared. I just seen a whole bunch of blood coming out, got a towel and put pressure on it, and don't let any blood come out."

After that, the victim was rushed to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital. She is currently in stable condition. Police say the victim's boyfriend now faces charges of aggravated assault.
