Boil Notice Remains in Effect as Beeville Sees Return of Water Pressure

Water is once again flowing in the city of Beeville, where residents have had to do without it for the past two days. However, a mandatory water boil is still in effect.

The citywide water outage began Tuesday morning after, according to the City of Beeville, a water plant employee put too much of a chemical into the water, forcing them to back flow their filters.

Beeville's Interim City Manager Marvin Townsend confirmed that the employee who put too much of that chemical into the system was terminated soon after, but said that "a whole lot of people had to make mistakes."

Now that Beeville residents have seen their water pressure return, there will still be a period of time before all tests are done to make sure that no pollution is in the water system. Residents are urged to boil all water before use until the City of Beeville lifts the water boil notice.
