CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The state will not be seeking the death penalty in the case of 32-year old Jacob Crow, accused of killing a man at his home back in June and then taking the victim's vehicle.

Crow, who went before a judge Wednesday morning, is accused of killing 70-year old Charles Noack. The victim's body was found inside of his home on the 2400 block of Nemec Street in June.

According to a police affidavit, Crow told friends that he was looking for Noack's car keys, and when the 70-year old man would not give them up, Crow strangled him with a water hose.

Crow remains in the Nueces County Jail on a $300,000 bond.
