CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Businesses owners on the city's westside are beginning to feel frustrated after they say thieves have been breaking into their employees cars and trucks night after night.

"They broke into my truck, then they tried to get into that BMW," said Ruben Benavides, whose truck was broken into. "It had a cover on it, so they left it alone, but you can see where they were trying to get into it."

Employees of two businesses in the 5000 block of Ambassador Row said they have been hit by thieves back to back. They said it has been an ongoing problem in the area. The employees said that recently, the thieves used a sledge hammer to break into trucks, getting away with tools and a tool bag.

"We are getting tired," Benavides said. "We are going to have to do something about it, because it's not only our company trucks. Sometimes our salesmen will leave their trucks here to haul a trailer, and it will stay right back here. It's starting to be a habit."

If you have any information that can help police find these thieves, please call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
