Corpus Christi holds special glass recycling event Saturday

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Within the first year of the city's recycling bin program, the residents recycled as much as the USS Lexington weighs.

Even though the blue bin program started in 2011, there might still be confusion about what can and can't be recycled.

Angela Gonzalez with the Solid Waste Department said residents can always refer to the top of their blue bins which lists all items that can be recycled or give the city a call at 826-CITY.

Since glass can no longer be put in recycle bins, residents can drop off their glass at the JC Elliott Transfer Station Monday-Saturday.

There will be a special glass drop off event at the Walmart in Calallen this Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Make sure glass is clean and separated by color.
