Lane Closures Begin Monday for Different Projects Across the City

-The City of Corpus Christi Traffic Engineering division advises residents starting Monday, December 16, 2013 through Friday, December 20, 2013; weather permitting; City contractors will be doing road construction on Bichon Drive at the intersection of Yorktown Boulevard.

 As this work is ongoing, Bichon Drive will be closed to traffic at the intersection. Bichon Drive residents will detour west onto Nela Road, north onto Bay Drive to Yorktown Boulevard.

 Traffic control devices will guide motorists through the construction site. Motorists should expect delays and if possible seek alternate routes or avoid the area. Access to local driveways will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

-The City of Corpus Christi Traffic Engineering division advises residents starting Monday, December 16, 2013 through Wednesday, December 18, 2013; weather permitting; AEP contractors will be changing electrical transformers at Cimarron Boulevard and Yorktown Boulevard. During this period, the following temporary traffic plans will be implemented:

December 16: Westbound Cimarron Boulevard between Yorktown Boulevard and Grenoble Drive will be reduced to one lane of traffic

December 17: Westbound traffic at the intersection of Cimarron Boulevard and Grenoble Drive will be shifted onto the eastbound lanes and traffic reduced to one lane in each direction.

December 18: Northbound traffic on Yorktown Boulevard will be reduced to one lane through the Cimarron Intersection. In addition, westbound Cimarron Boulevard will be reduced to one lane through the Yorktown intersection.

Traffic control devices will guide motorists through the construction site. Motorists should expect delays and if possible seek alternate routes or avoid the area. Access to local driveways will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

-The City of Corpus Christi Traffic Engineering division advises residents from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 16, 2013, weather permitting; AEP crews will set up a 90-ton crane and replace a transformer from the top of the Bank of America building. The southbound traffic between Peoples and Schatzell Streets will be shifted onto the northbound lanes, while Water Street traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
