CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A local man is using his unique talent to help kids have gifts under the tree this Christmas.

John Mendoza told 3 News, "some people buy lottery tickets. I play the claw machine." John Mendoza says every time he goes to the Walmart on Saratoga he stops by a claw machine at the entrance and tries to win a stuffed animal.

Well, those efforts have paid off. Over the past month or so he's collected about 35 stuffed animals. We were there as John placed all of those toys inside a donation box in front of the store. John said it was his way of giving back to area kids this Christmas.
