CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A South side resident was shaken up Wednesday morning after police say an SUV slammed into their home.

No one inside the house was injured. Investigators say a Liza Vasquez, 28, lost control of her SUV on Flynn Parkway near Holly around 2:15AM and struck the home.

Police tell us she also backed out of the home, hit a fire hydrant, a stop sign and struck a tree before winding up in a yard. Officers say the house suffered pretty significant damage.

"That can be a nerve rattling experience having someone strike your house while you are asleep in the middle of the night, and he kind of explained to me it shook him up. Luckily no body was injured in the house, actually where it hit there was nobody sleeping," says Corpus Christi Police Lieutenant Kevin Bolles

Police arrested the driver of that SUV. Vasquez was charged with driving while intoxicated.
