Salvation Army Helps Family Find Home for the Holidays

Posted: Updated:

A family that was left homeless after encountering hard times was able to sleep in a home they can call their own Wednesday night thanks to the Salvation Army.

David and Glenda Salmon and their two teen sons had been staying at the Salvation Army family shelter for the last five months. They were forced out on the street after falling on difficult times.

"We're going through financial problems," David Salmon said. "The Salvation Army helped us out, put us on our feet, got our finances together. We're back together."

Glenda, David and their two sons turned to the Salvation Army for help.

"All we really did was give them some guidelines and priorities and help them," said Major Terry Ray of the Salvation Army. "They had all the resources. They did everything right. It proves the programs we have work. To see this family home for the holidays really is a blessing, as Glenda says, a miracle."

There are 86 other people just like them and 25 children who are staying at the Salvation Army's family shelter.
