Northside Apartment Complex Given Citations for Code Violations

Posted: Updated:

Residents at a northside apartment complex say rats, mold and structure damage are just some of problems they have been dealing with that have yet to be addressed.

One resident, who did not want to be identified, said it has been going on for the several years that she has lived at the Casa de Santa Fe Apartment.

"And we've told them plenty of times to come check it out, and they say, 'We'll be there,' and we've lived here already about four years and they have not come to fix it," the resident said.

The property owners of Casa de Santa Fe, located on the 3000 block of Antelope, were given several citations on Monday by the City's Code Enforcement officers after not correcting the problems when notified 30 days beforehand.

"If you own a property in this city and it's substandard, you are either going to bring it up to code or we are going to remove it from you," said Captain David Blackmon of the Corpus Christi Police Department.

The citations the complex was given were for electrical, sewage and mold problems.
