Suv Plows Front of South Side Home Christmas Morning

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

It was a frightening way for the residents of this Southside home to wake up to this Christmas morning when a white Nissan Extera crashed through the front of their home on the 4300 block of Philippine Dr at 2 a.m.

Fortunately no one was injured. Police said the driver fled the scene, so they don't know if alcohol was involved.

The homeowners told 3 News that there was a passenger in the car who cooperated with police and stayed at the scene. She told them that the driver was a female.

Even though this is an unfortunate way to start Christmas morning for the residents, the crash didn't kill the Christmas spirit.

Neighbors from across the street immediately began to help the residents clean up the front of their home and started to mend the damage.

The neighbors told us that it was the right thing to do and that it wouldn't be Christmas if they didn't help our their neighbors in need.

The homeowners said they were just thankful that no was injured and that their grand children were not at home at the time of the accident.
