Man Picked Up on Arrest Warrant, Facing Multiple Charges

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Corpus Christi police arrested a 45-year old man Thursday at his residence in the 1700 block of Jordan Drive. He had a warrant out for his arrest, and now faces numerous charges.

It was just after midnight when officers arrived at the residence of Anthony Montez and saw him on a motorcycle. They notified him that he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Alice for theft of a firearm.

Montez fought with the officers and tried to run away, but was eventually detained. Soon after, police discovered that the motorcycle he was on had been reported stolen from Nile Drive back in October. They also found a bag in his possession containing a substance they believed to be methamphetamine.

Police officers impounded the stolen motorcycle and transported Montez to the City Detention Center for the arrest warrant out of Alice, as well as resisting arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
